Online advertisers always look for cost effective banner design. They want banners to be designed at less or no cost. Are cheap banners good for your online advertising? There are websites which offer free banner templates to download and use. You can also find banner designers who can design your banners at a rate much cheaper than the market price standards.

It may sound to you that you have saved your budget a lot by taking banner designs. But your initial saving is not going to help you in the long run. You should adopt the banner design that has originality and professionalism.

Clearly the cheap banner designing has following limitations:

Originality: Freely available banners lack originality and creativity.  These banners can be used by many more advertisers who look for free banners. As a result, visitors won’t pay attention to those banners as they will be too common. And less attention will generate only few or no click-through rate.

Graphics: The graphics in the cheap banners are difficult to modify or change. Graphics of your banner may lose quality if you stretch your banner by scale. If you think to replace images in the banner at a later stage, you won’t be able to do so. So you have to use cheap banner templates in the way they are available. You can’t modify them much.

Sizes: Free or cheap banner templates will be available in some specific sizes. You can’t change the dimension or else image quality and text proportion in the banner will be changed.

Color and Font: Once you download or design your cost-effective banner by a cheap banner designer, you may not change the color in the background at a later stage. Also the font type can not be changed.

Animation: Most of the cheaply designed banners lack animation features. If you want to design a good banner you have to apply animation as moving graphics and texts easily attract viewer’s eyes. Eye-popping animations are really tough to find from a freely available banner template.

Software, color compression and byte size: Free software for banner making can’t do color compression and they even don’t support all colors. Also the byte size for cheaply designed banners create problems as there are restrictions for maximum banner sizes.  These types of problems can be solved by using banners of good quality.

If you are still determined to use cheap banners from web or low cost banners from your designer, you have to face above problems. If you have plans for a better advertising, it is a good choice to save some cost for your custom banner design. That way you can get bigger return on your investment.
